Adding or modifing Phraseology

Postby StevenD » Mon Nov 07, 2011 5:38 am

Other than using EVP to speed up the voice and change FAA to ICAO, I've not done much with EVP. I have FSX SP2 with EVPX.

I read on the AVSIM forums that someone was able to change/create a phraseology for when the tower is advising you to contact ground after landing. The user was able to add in "Welcome to ... " so it would sound like: Airline 123, welcome to Austin. Contact ground on 123.45"

I tried creating a new phraseology that would override the existing, created the sound files in Pilot 0 (Male), checked "Replace Existing", and copied to the other 8 voices, then saved and updated.

I went into FSX and landed, but got the old phrase "Airline 123, contact ground on 123.45"

I'm not sure where I went wrong, or if i put the phrase right: {callsign_shortened}, welcome to {airport}. {TWR_AC_HANDOFF_GROUND}
-- I think that may be part of the problem, I cannot find the 'TWR_AC_HANDOFF_GROUND' phrase anywhere except in the long list to the right when editing a sound file. So I'm not sure there is anything to override or uncheck in the Community phraseology.

If and one can help with this it would be great. And yes, Ive done the walk through on creating a call sign and it worked.

Thank you for your help.

YAAAAY me!!!

I have a tendency when something doesn't work to play around with it until it either breaks for good or it works. This time, I got it to work!

Now I just need to fine tune it a bit more.

Hi Steven,

Just wondering how you did the mod. What phraseology or sections you modified. I am new to the program and don't want to screw it up. I have made a few mods so far but they were pretty simple ones.
