Magnetic variation

Postby davenicoll » Thu Nov 24, 2016 5:38 pm

Hi,

When an airport changes it's Runway number due to a magnetic change how can I edit the ATC so it tells me the correct number.

EG KSNA, John Wayne Orange County has now gone to 20L and 20R and 02L and 02R but I keep getting asked to go to the old numbers..19L and 19R

I have the Taxi2Gate version so all my runway markings and taxiway signs reflect the change.

Hi Dave, the ATC does not need to be changed. Every airport comes with an AFCAD file (which can be edited with Airport Design Editor (freeware) or Flight1 AFX (payware)). If you change the runway numbers there, ATC will guide you to the correct runway. Please not that also the visuals (taxiway signs, runway numbering) needs to be adjusted. So in this case it is either up to the developer or some good folks who are handy with updating these files.
