EVP XL 5.3.1 crashes on start up

Postby Capt. Speirs » Tue Jan 17, 2017 6:05 am

I can not get EVP 5.3.1 to start up to enter reg key. I ran the System File Checker and there were no errors found. There was a detailed error text message created by EVP, however it is over 10,000 characters long. Can't figure out how to attach it.

Most likely the last few hundred lines will be enough to determine where the problem is. But I'll send a PM with a location where you can upload the full error log.

Thank you for your quick response. File is uploaded. I would like to add that I deleted the old USEnglishBig.gvp and restored it with the one from the cab file. That also did not help.

Please have a look in the file:
C:\Users\Capt. Speirs\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.CFG

Look for a line with the following content:
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Aircraft //"C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Aircraft"

Remove //"C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Aircraft" so the line just reads:
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Aircraft

as // does not indicate a comment in an INI file.
