Registry Key not found although it exists

Postby karim_mailt » Thu Apr 22, 2010 4:27 pm

Hello,

I am using the EditVoicepack Version for FS9. On startup the Message saying, that the registry key pointing to the FS9 direction is missing, comes up.
So I added the key manually. However, the message still comes up.
How exactly has the Key to look like? Is there kind of a guide for it?
I just wrote the path of FS9 into the default value in the key "9.0".

I dont't want to reinstall the FS just because of this issue.

So actually the question is: How does the registry key has to look like?

It would be great if someone could give me a hint!

Sorry, just saw this. If you are still looking, there are several entries for EVP in the registry. I don't think putting one in manually will do it. I would delete and reinstall EVP making sure it knows the path to FS9.

Registry key missing

Postby fredric » Mon Sep 20, 2010 10:45 pm

Hi,

I too had a similar problem. I recently installed FS9 and Editvoicepack 3.1. Installation was ok but when I tried to run Editvoicepack.exe, I got a message that says "'HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\9.0' is missing or does not point to a valid installation of Flight Simulator."

I uninstalled and reinstalled FS9 but problem persist. Checked the registry and found the following:

(Default) REG_SZ (Value not set)
CDPath REG_SZ E:\
DigitalProductID REG_BINARY (zero-length binary value)
EXE Path REG_SZ D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9
InstalledGroup REG_SZ 3
LandID REG_DWORD 0x00000009 (9)
Launched REG_SZ 1
MP9Check REG_SZ 3
PID REG_SZ 69768-442-1603551-97250
Version REG_SZ 9.0
VersionType REG_SZ RetailVersion
Zone REG_SZ http://zone.msn.com/asp/fs04redir.asp

What should I do? Appreciate your help.

Thanks Lars. Managed to repair Registry but ran into another problem - unable to save.

Keep getting this message "Unable to save:
Access to the path "C:\Program Files\Bevelstone Production]EditVoicepack\EditVoicepackData.xml" is denied."

I removed and reinstall Editvoicepack - got the same message, thereafter, the program "hang".
